Today is a Belli Challenge day, and this week's challenge is to make something using the cracked glass technique. I bought the glassy glaze enamel powder for this technique about three years ago, and never got around to trying it. I had a couple of different ideas in mind for this card (different stamps), but ended up using this one that I bought AGES ago. I never know what to do with this stamp. I've inked it a few times, but I've never been happy with the results. It's such a big stamp... I just don't know what to do with it. Did I mention that already? lol. Because I don't.
The sentiment is from a little set of Christmas sayings in German that I got from Firecracker Designs by Pamela. This sentiment means, "Blessed Christmas", as you might have guessed from my post title. ;o) I thought it was the perfect sentiment for the image, but I'm still not 100% happy with the card. Go figure. The main images is called "Holy Family Window" and is by Stampendous (dated 2001).
I was thrilled to find those German stamps though, so I'm excited to finally get to use one. I can remember my great-grandpa talking to his brothers and sisters in the language (his family immigrated from the German Volga District of Russia in the early 1900's) as a child, and have always wanted to learn it myself. Maybe some day the boys and I can learn the language together. :)
Be sure to check out the other Belli girl blogs.... I'm a bad blogger and don't have a list of their links in my sidebar yet, but if you pop over to Chrissy's blog, she'll have a list of everyone who is participating in her post today.
Are you playing along with all of the challenges that are going on these days? PaperCraft Planet is running a 12 days of Christmas challenge, and so is Limelight Papercrafts. I am actually hosting the Limelight challenge on December 8, where you can win a cute Unity stamp if you play along (note: these are not all card challenges, some are trivia, etc. so be sure to take a look!). There will also be a grand prize winner chosen from everyone who plays over the 12 days - if you play in every challenge, you'll be entered 12 times for the grand prize! Woot!
Typing "grand prize" reminds me of the grand prize game on The Bozo Show. LOL! Did anyone else watch that? Man, I soooo wanted my Mom to take me down to be on the show. Chicago seemed so far away back then...
Ok, enough from me! Go create!
