Courage to Continue

I am so far behind on the cards I am supposed to be making (read: those swap spots I signed up for) that I didn't think I'd have time to participate in the fun challenges this week. Today was a banner day though. not only did I start and finish all of the cards for one of my swap spots, but I also managed to finish a card for Taylor's Cupcake Challenge. Here is her sketch for this week:

And here is my interpretation of it:

My husband has been asking me to make him a card with this stamp ever since the day it came into the house some two years ago, so I finally decided to get the job done. Part of the problem was that I knew I wanted to use camo paper on the card, and I only just recently found some I liked at Hobby Lobby.

If I had to do it over again, I think I might run a stripe of chocolate chip grosgrain under and above the sentiment rather than doodling the edges, but then again maybe not. This is a majorly alpha male card and I don't know that ribbon is appropriate for such a card! I'm lovin' the brads though, they remind me of ammo. :) My military-history-loving-husband thinks it is too cool and is taking it to work with him on Monday to hang in his cubicle. If he is happy, that's all that matters!

I'm going to try to be back tomorrow with a late (or early, depending on how you look at it!) Mojo Monday sketch since I've missed a few weeks of those now. Hopefully all of the stars will align and the boys will cooperate and I'll have another good stamping day!

Details:
Stamps: Stampin' Up!
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Paper: Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel, The Paper Studio DP
Other: Tarnished brads - two sizes

I think this is a great card. I like the doodles, I think ribbon might have taken the eye off the fantastic quote. TFS

Alpha Male, indeed! What an honor to have your work displayed in your husband's cubicle! Not many men will do that... even with camo on it! lol!

oh Sarah, this is such a wonderful, wonderful card! I think even though it's simple, it's one of the most touching cards I've seen.
