If you follow my blog regularly, you might remember me mentioning things I've sent to, or received from, my summer sister Lorie. Lorie has a blog called Live, Laugh, Love, Create and when I saw this LLL stamp I knew I had to get it for her. I *really* wanted to make something to coordinate and send along with the stamp, so I asked her if she wouldn't mind me using it for one card before I sent it (of course she said that was fine). This is the card I made for her.
I used the Rock n' Roll technique on the word Create, stamping each letter in Cameo Coral and then rounding the edges on my Going Grey ink pad. I love that technique for solid chunky stamps like this. The flowers are from a small Studio G acrylic set (from Michael's, I think - it was a gift). I stamped each one in coral with a RnR in grey, then used my 2-way glue pen over the petals and added some dazzling diamonds and a brushed silver brad to the center of each for texture. I chose my colors based on her pinkish banner color (it was pink at the time, she's adjusted it some since). I also have to give photo credits to Lorie. She was kind enough to send me a pic of the card, since I forgot to take one before I mailed it. Doh!
I still haven't shown you the latest card/gift she sent to me. She sent me some images with it, and I'm kind of holding off so I can show what I made with one of her images along with what she sent. Hopefully I'll get that done before the next package comes! I was going to work on it tonight, but started a different project instead (story of my life, really).
So here's my question for today.... What do you use to clean your rubber stamps? I have been using All Night Media's rubber stamp cleaner (dauber) for as long as I've been stamping, and am very sad to report that I can no longer find it anywhere - not even eBay - and I'm almost out of it *sniff, sniff*. I have the SU scrub and mister, but I'm honestly not a big fan. Maybe I just need to get used to it? Any other suggestions (bonus points if it's a dauber - I love those!)?

For cleaning stamps I use the SU cleaner and pad. Other than that I use Stazon cleaner. Works good...but it more expensive and smells a little...Hugs, Ila

I make my own rubber stamp cleaner. I've been doing it for years. I used 1/4 cup Simple Green cleaner and 1/2 cup water. I just spray it on my stamp scribber pad and it works like a charm. It even cleans staz on off! The best part is that this stuff is cheap to make.
I'm glad you feel about the SU one, because I feel the same way. I've been using baby wipes, but I'd love to get a new stamp pad and cleaner... I used to have one with a white brush area, and that cleaned very well, but it died out on me... sigh... guess I need to find a new one with white "brush" pads to it.
Hmmmm, I like the sound of Holly's recipe. Im always trying to save money and my stamp cleaner is getting a little low. I might just have to give that one a whirl.
For now though I'm using a daubber by Judikins called Rubber Stamp, Fabric & Permanent Ink Cleaner. It works well .... has a smell but is tolerable. It is not recommended for clear stamps, but I have used it on some of my cheaper ones and have had no problems from using it.
BTW.... love the RNR technique. That's pretty kewl.

Cleaner- Mostly I use homemade cleaner- baby wash, distilled water, glycerin. Then baby wipes for craft/pigment ink. And finally Ultra Clean if I use Staz-On or something permanent. I have the Staz-On cleaner, but I don't like it very much, but it does have the dauber top!
So there you go. ;)

I use the SU! cleaner and, honestly, I like it! Now, Sarah, if you are a good sister I have some Ultra Cleaner from Gina K that I'll send to you. I don't like it but you may.

This card is adorable! I am getting low on my stamp cleaner as well so I just might have to give this a try!
I love this card!!! Although, forgive me, I don't know what LLL is. Wish I could find something like that! I too use the SU stuff and like it very much. I have also learned that the brand of ink you use plays a big part. Hey what do I know!! I know I love your work!! Great job!
