Mmmm....Cupcakes!

Here's Riley in the kitchen. Isn't she adorable? Or is it a he? Who knows! All I know is there are cupcakes involved, and therefore I'm in! *wink* I am making this card for the 1:1 Challenge that is currently posted on the Hanna Stamps Yahoo Group. The only requirement was to make something "blue", so here's my contribution in Sky Blue and Taken With Teal (did you ever noticed how well those two colors match? Yeah. Just figured that out.... 11 days before Sky Blue retires. Nice.)

I have to give credit to Charmaine Ikach for the idea to put a recipe behind a food image. What a great idea that was! In case you aren't familiar, you can view the card that inspired me here.

I added some blue glitter to the frosting on the cupcakes for a little sparkle, and added the copper brads at the top because they remind me of grandma's copper bottom kettles. :) I really, really, REALLY wanted to add some ribbon to the card, but I just couldn't find a good spot for it, so I went without.

Here is a close up of the moose:

As you can see from the photo, I popped her head up on dimensionals and added a little dot from the white gel pen to her eyes.

NOW, listen! If you love this card, or even like it a lot, there is still time to sign up for this challenge and if Kristi pairs us it will be YOURS! I know, you're so excited you can hardly stand it, right? LOL. Ok, so maybe not, but hey, SIGN UP ANYWAY!!

Details:
Stamps: Baking Riley (Hanna Stamps), Recipe Fun (Stampin' Up! ...MAN, that set is ANCIENT!)
Ink: Adirondack Pitch Black, Taken With Teal
Paper: Sky Blue (CS & DP), Taken With Teal, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White
Other: Copper Brads, Doodlebugs Sugar Coating Glitter, Sakura Gelly Roll Pen (sparkle on pan), Stampin' Dimensionals, Copic Markers, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, 1 1/2" Circle Punch

And I have to give a shout out to all of you girls who are tagging me with these BFF and Brillante awards. You gals ROCK. Seriously, it makes me feel good to know there are people out there who like what I do (can anyone else hear Sally Field... "You like me! You really like me!" lol!). It has been a crazy few days, so it's taking me longer than usual to get through all of the blogs I read and make comments and update my side bar with everyone's names, etc. but please know that I haven't forgotten any of you! I'd like to forego laundry and dishes to do get up to speed now, but that just doesn't seem like a good idea (only because it means they'll be worse when I finally get to them!). It'll all come eventually!

Enjoy the day,

Hi Sarah!! I know, I'm a dork...I was so busy with challenges I wasn't reading blogs or my comments! I figured I'd catch up on them after DTGD was over! lol

You crack me up!! Love the Soft Sky/Taken with Teal comment ;) This little moose is adorable!! I love how you layered everything and the recipe card in back is genius...I think you made it your own by using and actual card, rather than just a list. Oh, an I love the sparkly cupcakes!! So cute :)
